Over the Christmas period, I pretty much, had the the whole time off. It allowed me to catch up with friends and family, buy Christmas presents, do some more boring parts of the business like admin and invoicing etc but it was so good to be more in control of my time and not to feel a bit of stress with no deadlines and a pile of work staring me in the face.
So...just after new year, I arranged a wee day out with a couple of buddies. The idea was to go climb a mountain or at least a nice big hill. Dave (the beardy guy) is my second shooter so if you're a past or future bride, then you'll either recognise him or you will when he turns up with a camera in hand. He is also a pretty gosh darn good film maker and when he is not photographing weddings he is working on his new venture, Wandern Media.
We wanted to get some sample footage to help with the showreel for Wandern Media (which can be viewed here)and what better than the beautiful views of Scotland. You're never really more than about half an hour away from some beautiful scenes so we set out a trip to nearby Loch Lomond and as much as the weather was harsh, it was a great day and you will seeing more of these types of blogs on the site this year.
