The Rhynd Wedding Photographer | Heather & Matt
Where to begin with this one. I met Heather and Matt back in 2018 when I was photographing the incredible wedding of Lauren and Andy. Heather was one of Laurens bridesmaids and I remembered her being a really happy and bubbly person, so when Matt popped the question and Heather got in touch to be their photographer, I jumped at the chance. Heather and Matt are such happy smiley and positive people that I knew straight away their wedding was going to match their amazing personalities, I was not wrong.
I started the day early with Matt and the boys as they got the blood pumping with some touch rugby at the St Andrews Uni playing fields. Some might say playing Rugby on your wedding morning might be a tad risky but what an amazing start to the day. The boys were on their best behaviour and there were no broken ankles or bloody noses, just a lot of cans of Tennants. Afterwards, I headed down the road to see Heather and the girls and as expected, there was nothing but happy faces and dancing in the kitchen.
After a lovely ceremony at the impressive St Salvators Chapel, we headed through to The Rhynd which is absolutely gorgeous! Warm, cosy lighting and gorgeous florals (By Amy Annand) matched the rustic vibes of the barn perfectly. I was truly blown away by how gorgeous it all was. One of the highlights of the day was a lovely speech by Heather’s Gran. It was her 90th birthday and in her own words, she couldn’t think of a better way to spend such a milestone birthday that at the wedding of her granddaughter.
One thing that stood out to me throughout the day was how untraditionally traditional the day was. Yes, there was a ceremony in a church, there was speeches and dancing which is a typical wedding day, but the atmosphere was so informal and relaxed that it just felt like a big bunch of pals out for the day and having a good time. In my opinion, this is exactly how all weddings should feel. The day flowed perfectly and it ended with the busiest dancefloor I’ve seen. Straight from the first note the band played.
Heather and Matt, you guys are the best! So chilled out and happy all day. I loved spending the day with you all. Thank you so much for having me photograph your wedding.
