Many people will likely agree that photography is a very personal thing, for both couples and photographers. Couples look through lots of wedding photographers before choosing the one they connect with most. It’s the same on the photographers side. I need to feel like I am the right man for the job and I’m not the photographer for everyone. There’s plenty people who look at my website and will click off the page instantly. They’re looking for something else and I’m glad, because it means I only get the couples who really feel a connection with my work and I’m hired because people want me to document their day and not just because it’s expected to have a photographer at your wedding. It’s this connection that makes me so happy whenever my couples weddings come around and I get to see them again. I’m welcomed into peoples homes and treated as a friend as well as getting a VIP pass to parts of the wedding that nobody else gets to see, the cherry on the cake is handing over their finished gallery with cherished memories of such an amazing and fast paced day.

I met up with Ross and Vhairi in a coffee shop in Glasgow on their lunch breaks. I could tell that photography was a huge deal to them and as they were explaining what they wanted, they were basically describing exactly what I also want when shooting a wedding so when they went ahead and booked me as their photographer, I was over the moon.

These are 2 of the most lovely, kind, generous and truly made for each other couples I’ve met. They’re a fun loving couple and truly embraced their wedding for what it should be. A celebration. When I met them again closer to their wedding I knew it was going to be a great day. The way they talked about their families and their bridal party was absolutely spot on and on the day, these folks were a joy to be around. My trusty 2nd Shooter, Martin, hopped on the train with the fellas and I headed through to Brig O Doon to see the girls. The morning of a wedding is an emotional rollercoaster. It’s loud and fun in the morning then as the ceremony draws closer, everyone gets a bit quieter and people start moving around a lot more. No matter how much time you have, the last 10 minutes are always a panic and it’s when people are at their highest level of emotion. I love it.

I feel like I’m rambling a bit here and to sum up the rest of the day, it was perfect! Plenty of chill time for Ross and Vhairi to spend with their guests but of course, we nipped out for some pictures in between to which they absolutely smashed, I mean look at them, they’re gorgeous!
